Our Challenge

A church isn't really a building at all. A church is actually the Body of Christ; individual believers who are called to live obediently to God. We strive to be people who are servants, following the example of Jesus. This is the challenge: to be the kind of church family that allows each person to fulfill his or her function in the Body of Christ, and for His glory.

Our Commitment

At Zion Baptist Church, we feel that church membership takes on the sense of a covenant relationship. Each active member of Zion Baptist Church enters into a promise with the other members of the fellowship. This covenant provides the opportunity of spiritual growth and the mutual support of the membership. The covenant relationship best mirrors the atmosphere and intent of the original New Testament Church and nurtures an environment that enables us to minister according to spiritual gifts given from the Holy Father. No, we aren't perfect, but praise God we are forgiven and lifted high!

Our Confession

Although we cannot give you everything we doctrinally hold on to in this short space, we can give you some highlights. For instance we believe in:

• God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
• The Bible as the inerrant Word of the Living God.
• Jesus Christ, as God in the flesh, the only Savior of mankind.
• The substitutionary death of Christ as the only means of salvation.
• The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
• The certainty of Christ's second coming to take us with Him to heaven.
• The sovereignty of God over all world events and of our personal lives.

Zion Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Association and the Clinton Baptist Association. We are generally in agreement with churches in these organizations, and also fully believe that there are many believers among the many demoninations associated with historical Christianity.
